 2018 SPECIAL AWARDS and PRIZES

Thanks to the generosity of our Sponsors, each year the SCRSTF gives out approximately $8,000 in cash, prizes and scholarships.

Learn about the many different award possibilities that you could be eligible for. There are three types of awards:

Divisional,
Special and
Grand

"2018 Prizes have been finalized".

Divisional Awards

Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention Awards are presented in each age category:

Elementary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior

in each of the 5 scientific divisions:

Human & Health Sciences,
Plant & Animal Sciences,
Physical & Mathematical Sciences,
Computer & Engineering, and
Earth & Environmental Sciences.

All Divisional Award winners receive a medal. In the case of Partner Projects, two medals may not be available at the time of the awards ceremony. In such cases, the project will receive one medal during the awards ceremony and a second medal will be sent to the winner's school as soon as possible.

Some Divisional Awards come with cash prizes, thanks to the generosity of our financial sponsors. Gold medal projects receive $100, Silver medal projects receive $50 and Bronze medal projects receive $25.

Awards are based on project merit not necessarily on the number of projects in the grouping. Therefore some groupings may award multiple medals (ie. 2 Silver medals, or 3 Bronze medals) or may not award certain medals is the Head Judge does not feel the project levels warrant it (ie. only 1 Silver medal, and no Gold).
The decision of the Head Judge is Final.
